He was a life-long Democrat until attending his first Trump rally in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 1st, 2019, after being invited by Lara Trump. After that rally, Scott will tell you that his life and political stances changed from that moment on. Everything he was told for years by our media and Hollywood was a lie. He was embraced and felt nothing but love from Trump supporters, as a gay man and a former Democrat. No hate, just love.
Scott is one of the most transparent people you will ever get to know regarding his past drug use and how he learned from it. He has been retweeted by President Trump, as well as meeting Lara Trump at Trump Tower. Scott is covering Trump rallies and events for us here at Deplorables Magazine. While we were starting Deplorables Magazine last summer, one of our editors saw tons of videos of Cincinnati, Ohio posted on Twitter by someone riding around on a bicycle through city streets with a camera. Uploading them one by one showing the progress Cincinnati has made and is still making under a Trump administration. We instantly reached out to the man behind the camera, Scott Ford.
We spoke on the phone and agreed to meet him in Cincinnati with our founding crew. Instantly, we all hit it off and knew we would work together in some capacity. Scott is well known in Cincinnati. Anywhere we went, we had to stop filming or interviewing as people would approach him and ask for a photo, or talk politics.
Needless to say, our meeting went so well, Scott and Deplorabes Magazine decided to partner up and create original content, including a new podcast as well as him covering Trump rallies and events with much more in the pipeline.
What drew us and so many others to Scott is his transparency. Many others in the spotlight or in media try to hide their past issues/hardships and or anything that may give them a negative perception. Scott, however, talks often about the bad decisions he made years ago revolving around drugs in hopes to deter others from taking that same path. He ran away from home to NYC at age 14 and became a drug addict living in multiple cities such as San Diego, New York City, and San Francisco. 23 cities to be exact. When he hit rock bottom, he moved back home to his midwest roots in Cincinnati, stopped using drugs (5 years clean now), and surrounded himself with family, friends, and a new outlook on life. He will tell you that his decision to move back to Ohio may have saved his life.
Scott now has his own podcast with Deplorables Magazine, covers Trump rallies, conducts interviews with political candidates, has been retweeted by President Trump and his son Don Jr, interviewed Senior Advisor with the Trump Campaign Lara Trump at Trump Tower and created a friendship with her. He holds close to 70k Twitter followers and interacts with them regularly, still doing almost daily videos of Cincinnati to document its tremendous economic development under a Trump administration. Scott is a prime example that if you work and believe hard enough, you can overcome anything.
In a special audio format for the February 2019 issue, here is Scott’s Deplorables story.
You’ve met Senior Consultant for the Trump campaign, Lara Trump, at Trump Tower and have created a special relationship with her. President Trump and Don Jr both have retweeted you as well. How does it feel personally and professionally to have made these connections with more meetings with Lara coming up?
You’ve been traveling the country with Deplorables Magazine covering rallies and events. How has it been meeting Trump supporters as well as non-Trump supporters in many states and connections you’ve made?
This is what you’ll probably hear about, you know, and I realized that there will be people who come out of the woodwork who will try to destroy my, my success and my legacy. And they won’t do that because I’m honest. I won’t let anyone bring me down because I’m honest. You know, my life isn’t perfect. There is no pic picture perfect scenario, but I know something is working. I know that I have fresh ideas to plant as seeds in the community. I know I have an opportunity to be a voice to impact young people right now. It has been a humbling honor to represent deplorables magazine. I have struggled to find an outlet where I felt comfortable, free and liberated. I never want to be suffocated or strapped down to a contract working 40, 50 hours a week and have a company organization control my social media and, uh, dictate a set of instructions, corporate structure and rules on how to use my social media or my performance as an employee.
I want to be a voice on my own terms and conditions and this opportunity to grow and collaborate with, uh, deplorables. Uh, was suiting and it has been a great fit. As I have traveled the country around to Trump rallies, I have met all folks of life, every one from glam and wealth to even families who struggle paycheck to paycheck. But at the end of the day, we share a common core values and beliefs to live well, to do well, to lift each other up, and to secure that good American dream. You know, I realize all of our factors are different. My factors are different from yours. But if we can lift each other up, support each other, and we are, we’re on the right side of history. You know, I don’t necessarily consider president Trump a full, raging Republican. I honestly do believe in my heart, this is a president who is for all Americans, people like me who have lived with HIV, AIDS, hepatitis C, people like me overcoming drug addiction. People like me who has once experienced homelessness and Denver, San Francisco, and in New York city.
What I’ve experienced is only class love and respect from the Trump family and white house. It’s important for me to share these words and get it out there. You know, as someone who was formally involved in BDO, appearing on television as a travel expert and building quite an impressive network from local TV stations and national, including radio and print and newspaper, I saw firsthand a business model within media organizations where they want it to control content, control your mind, and control your thinking. I never want it to be part of this culture and I always had a problem because I spoke up and I, you know, by, by being a voice, I ended a lot of relationships and it’s been well worth it. I’ve had to rebuild my network and this is where I am today. You know, learning more about America, having an appreciation for this country, Americans, law enforcement authority. This is the most incredible experience in my life to be a part of.
Take us back to your first Trump rally in August of 2019 and the love and support you received from Trump supporters?
Do you credit moving back home to Ohio in helping you become sober from drug use and gaining a new perspective on life?
You are being asked to run for city council and Mayor in Ohio almost on a daily basis. Do you have the itch to run for political office?
Some call you the most transparent person on Twitter. That is something many people love about you. What do you have to say to any that criticize how you use your own Twitter?
How have policies brought on or promoted by the Trump administration helped you personally with your health issues and cure?
Do you feel that some are taking advantage of “converting” to being Trump supporters and in a way, trying to ride the movement to fame as well as getting wealthy via endless Go Fund Me campaigns and then never showing where the donations were spent?
You know, you see all these GoFundMe’s and all these events and people need $20,000 for a booth. I need $6,000 for a table. I need $7,000 for the next event. But they’re not showing you where the money’s going. A lot of these people are riding on Trump’s celebrity and fame. They’re cashing in on the moment, and the very people around Trump’s circle in the white house, they’re doing the same. You know, you have to say to yourself, who is the genuine Trump supporter and who is fake? Tried to distinguish those people and aligned yourself with really passionate Republicans and conservatives who are on a mission to be a, you know, to push an American agenda, not a celebrity status.
